Wandering the city

Yesterday we checked out of Hotel Casa Santa Rosa and into Posada Buceros. The time in between we had no place to be, so wander we did!

We went back to a great restaurant, Sabe Rico for a delicious smoothy and a rest in their garden.

We then went over to the Cathedral San Francisco and walked through their museum. What a beautiful ruined church.

Finally we went back to our room to freshen up and to get settled. Feeling a bit hungry, we headed to our favorite Tapas restaurant for a snack and a Gallo beer.

The city is really busy this time of year, and on Saturdays they shut down the main road to the Parque Centro. The vendors are out in force! A beautiful Mayan lady was selling stuff and I asked her if I could take a picture of her, I knew she would want money, so I was prepared, I gave her 10Q, but she wanted 20Q! A woman from Guatemala City walking by, giving her an earful! something about Publico blah blah blah...

Adrian thought that she was maybe mad at me. After I got my picture for 10Q :) we caught up to the lady and I asked if she was mad at me, and in our broken language barrier conversation, she made us realize she was angry at this older woman for asking for money.

We finally met our HFH team that evening and after a quick meeting, we went out for supper at a great restaurant that we had not yet been to. La Pena de Latino. Really great food, I had the Pescado Volcan (Fish Volcano), it was really fantastic.
